Linocuts by CLAYTON TREMLETT
Clayton Tremlett lives and teaches in Castlemaine and has exhibited regularly in Regional, Public, Private and Artist-Run galleries across Australia as well as in England, Scotland and Austria. His work is represented in the Warrnambool Art Gallery and the National Gallery of Australia.
‘Father Figures’ is a set of 33 collector cards of bearded men that inspired Clayton while he was researching Castlemaine’s gold mining history. The cards depict historical and contemporary role models in a stark, dramatic style. Their style and format make the set reminiscent of his childhood collections of footy cards.
