I grew up near Kyogle on the far north coast of NSW. In my family, art has always been the expression of personal spirit, of play, identity and a way to communicate and relate to the freedom and isolation that was the nature of bush life. As my life and art has evolved,I have expanded my understandings of artistic expression and the vitality and nature of it's tendencies.I use art to debate and reveal issues about life itself. My works are about being human- they are often colourful and surreal. I studied Drawing at Lismore Tafe, and then obtained a Bachelor of Contemporary painting at Southern Cross University in Lismore. My teachers included Photographer Stephen Blanch, and Artist Michael John Taylor. I held my first major show 'Jumping into the Unknown' at Bulimba Art Gallery in May 2005. I exhibited solo, and worked on paintings in my river side studio in Brisbane for four years from 2004- 2008. After moving to Melbourne, I have had two solo exhibitions 'Percipient' at Hogan Gallery, Collingwood 2009 and'Near and Far' at the QV Womens Gallery in 2010.
