The Artists Gallery is proud to announce her first community-based project, an exhibition of works on canvas by the Blue Mountains Aerosol Artists Collective.

Together with the Upper Mountains Youth Centre, the gallery was able to discover a group of 8 young talents from the Blue Mountains region to organise a show that promises to inspire and surprise.

With the understanding that the most important and interesting art is being created unconventionally, The Artists Gallery is keen to unearth and showcase artists working in burgeoning forms. While aerosol works are not new to the art world, there remains a complex tension between the graffiti underground and the gallery system. The Alleys to Galleries exhibition intends to blur that line of demarcation and bring the two seemingly distinct worlds together.

The Artists Gallery hopes that, along with community support, these young artists will be inspired to further the development of their craft, and to explore their work as a career option. Also, the gallery is certain that those who attend the show will leave with a newfound appreciation of these young menís aerosol art, as well as a brand new outlook on the definitions of art.

The gallery and youth centre both hope that Alleys to Galleries will become an annual event, and look forward to the communityís support at its opening launch, and through the duration of the exhibition, that will ensure its success.
